Endodontia

The Endodontic

Dental Focus

If the tooth is not treated, the bacteria reproduce, generating a local infection (dental focus), which destroys adjacent bone, which can be limited only to this area or spread to parts of the body, releasing toxins in the bloodstream. An infected tooth can cause loss of physical strength, fever, sinusitis, ear pain, joint pain, endocarditis, and other symptoms.

In the past, people suffered to make a root canal treatment. Today, with cutting-edge technology, the treatment is painless and can maintain healthy teeth and an open smile.

It is the specialty that deals with the interior of the tooth, the canal. Inside the canal there is a living tissue, called pulp, which contains vessels and nerves and is germ-free (no germs). When bacteria invade this pulp, they cause inflammation, which can cause pain and sensibility to hot, cold and to the touch, and can evolve to an infection (abscess). The Endodontics treats the dental pulp removing these bacteria, eliminating the pain and discomfort. Save your tooth by treating its canal.

The Treatment

It consists in removing bacteria by disinfection and preparation of the canal, performing a chemical and mechanical cleaning of the internal space of the tooth, and then sealing it tightly. This avoids reinfection and creates biological conditions for the tooth and neighboring regions to become healthy again.

No Pain!

The root canal treatment has evolved over the last decades, with new tools and technologies. The use of the microscope,

digital  X-ray, tomography and low-power laser enables faster and safer treatment with better results. Today the treatment is without pain, and performed in a single session¸ whenever possible!
